Job Description
As a Porter within the Department of Health, your primary duties will include:
- Patient Transportation: Safely transporting patients from registration points to various clinical areas within the hospital.
- Morgue Services: Transporting corpses from wards to the mortuary, where applicable.
- Ambulance Assistance: Assisting in the transportation of patients to ambulances and other vehicles as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining stretchers and wheelchairs after each use to ensure they are ready for the next patient.
Skills and Competencies
- Educational Requirements: NQF Level 3 (Grade 10 certificate or equivalent).
