Job Description
Lindsay Saker VW Alberton offers an Accredited Competency-Based Modular Training (CBMT) Apprenticeship, which combines on-the-job training (OJT) and classroom instruction provided by the Motus Technical Training Academy (MTTA). This program is designed to develop skilled motor vehicle mechanics under the supervision of qualified professionals.
Program Details
- Contract Type: CBMT with merSETA and a learnership agreement with Lindsay Saker VW Alberton.
- Duration: 4 years (Levels 1–4).
- Wages: MIBCO minimum wages apply.
- Training Approach:
- 5 days of classroom training every 5 weeks at MTTA.
- Distance learning through the CDX program with online tutorials, quizzes, and interactive demonstrations.
- Computer-based exams and practical competency evaluations.
- Workplace Experience:
- Hands-on training at the Lindsay Saker Alberton Service Department, working alongside qualified technicians to maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles.
- Completion of a portfolio of evidence aligned with CBMT standards.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Educational Qualifications
- Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science, or
- N2 with Mathematics, Engineering Science, and English (minimum 50%).
Additional Requirements
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Computer Literacy.
- Pass a Mechanical Insight Test.
Selection Process
- Initial Screening: Background checks and medical fitness assessment.
- Further Assessment: Psychometric tests and face-to-face interviews for shortlisted candidates.
