This programme is aimed at equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to work as miners, providing on-the-job training combined with formal learning in a structured environment. The learnership ensures that participants will be qualified and gain experience, contributing to their professional and personal growth in the mining industry.

Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and English

The Appointee should:

  • Be medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Have a clear security screening record.
  • Have a valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Advantageous Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in a relevant environment.

Additional Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the programme objectives and associated tasks.
  • Complete all modules of the development programme within the specified timeframe.
  • Escalate queries and concerns associated with the programme and completion thereof where required.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all legal and safety requirements.
  • Conduct all work according to the required standard, specifications, and training.
  • Attend SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) meetings as and when required.
  • Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is worn and/or used.
  • Recognize hazardous situations that have an impact on all jobs and participate in “on the job” risk assessment.
