The South African Social Security Agency (sassa )announced payments dates for September Social Relief Of Distress ( Srd ) R350 Grant. During Covid 19 in 2019 due to high employment rate and the numbers of people losing their Jobs the South African Government so a need to introduced the Srd R350 Grant. as mentioned on The Jobplug site.
The introduction of R350 is to assist Jobless South Africa with No Source of funds /Monthly Salary to help them take care of their basic needed.
Here are Sassa payments dates for September Grant
- SRD Grant : 22 - 29 September 2023
- Older Persons Grant :Tuesday, 5 September 2023 .
- Disability Grant :Wednesday, 6 September 2023.
- All other grants : Thursday, 7 September 2023.
President Ramaphosa said " the successful implementation of the R350 unemployment grant has shown that government is capable of rolling out a basic income grant of a similar nature. "
He continued to say "That immediately exploded us on a new policy trajectory. We have extended it over time and now we have to countenance the issue of introducing a basic income grant, obviously within what we can afford"
benefits and disadvantages
- Some people use the Social Relief Of Distress to buy their months to months family Expenses however and some people use it on Alcohol which is not at all .
- there are benefiary who have used the R350 to start small business
