Job Summary:

RCL Foods is seeking South African job seekers for the position of Pallet Clerk. Successful applicants will be responsible for managing and tracking the movement of pallets within the RCL supply chain, ensuring accurate record-keeping, minimizing losses, and supporting efficient stock flow between warehouses, suppliers, and retailers.

Requirements:

• Matric or equivalent
• Previous experience in warehousing or similar role
• Experience in using pallet tracking systems (eg, Chep) is advantageous
• Familiarity with Microsoft excel and other inventory management tools
• Understanding of FMCG distribution networks and supply chain processes

Duties:

Chep pallet Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels through:
•    Track inbound and outbound pallet movements using relevant systems and paperwork
•    Maintain accurate records of pallet transactions, including returns, dispatch and exchanges
•    Reconcile pallet balances with transport providers, customers and suppliers
•    Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff and 3rd party logistics providers to manage pallet returns and collections
•    Monitor pallet inventory levels and report discrepancies or shortages
•    Conduct regular pallet audits to ensure compliance and company policies. Monthly counts to happen and this requires Sunday work once a month
•    Ensure adherence to safety and standards when handling pallets
•    Investigate and resolve discrepancies in pallet counts
•    Generate daily, weekly and monthly reports on pallet balances and movements
•    Monitor pallet losses and recommend strategies to reduce shrinkage
