As we approach the end of October the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) will once again announced the payment dates for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant of R370 for millions of approved beneficiaries.

Here are the Payments dates

For the month of October 2024, payments will be processed between 23-28 October 2024, ensuring timely financial relief to those eligible.

Previous Months:

In September 2024, the SRD payments were processed between 23-28 September 2024, as shown in the first image. Beneficiaries are advised to check their status on the SRD website to confirm the exact date when the funds will reflect in their bank accounts. This process will be similar for October, ensuring seamless service.

Increased SASSA Grants for October 2024

Additionally, as per the updated SASSA grants schedule for October 2024 (see the second image), various grants, including the old age grant, disability grant, and child support grants, have been slightly increased. The COVID-19 SRD grant remains at R370.

Here are the notable changes in grant amounts for October 2024:

• Old Age Grant (Below 75 years): Increased from R2,180 to R2,190
• Old Age Grant (Above 75 years): Increased from R2,200 to R2,210
• Disability Grant: Increased from R2,180 to R2,190
• Child Support Grant: Remains at R530
• Foster Child Grant: Remains at R1,180

These increases highlight SASSA's commitment to providing essential support to vulnerable groups across South Africa.
