Job Requirements
The following are the essential requirements for the Artisan Assistant position:
- Grade 10.
- Grade 12 will be an added advantage.
- Driver’s license code 10 & with PDP will be an added advantage.
- Must be able to operate various hand, electrical and gas operated tools/equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual).
- Ability to follow & execute given instructions.
- Good physical health, basic skills & know-how of doing physical work.
- A hard-working self-disciplined person.
- (Two) years’ work experience in Sewer/Purification environment within Local Government Authority.

DUTIES:
Assisting the Millwright with daily tasks assigned by the supervisor: - By doing any work with hand tools on water and sewerage excavation sites e.g. hands, picks, shovel, broom and various manual labour equipment tools. - Being responsible for loading and off-loading of material and equipment of the section with protected hand and safety tools. - Clean in and around the working area of responsibility with broom and various manual labour equipment tools to ensure a clean environment. - Do any labour related work when requested by either the supervisor or the superintendent of the section. - By executing all legal instructions form the supervisor to ensure productivity and sooth running of the Water, purification and Sewerage section. - Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
