Mbuyiseni Ndlozi's Future in EFF: Leadership Tensions and Speculation

Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, a founding member of the EFF, is reportedly excluded from the party's upcoming National People's Assembly (NPA). The assembly, from December 13–15, is vital for electing new leadership. Ndlozi’s absence, linked to speculated suspension, highlights internal tensions as the EFF prepares for significant changes.

Key Points

  1. NPA Exclusion: Ndlozi reportedly barred amid leadership reshuffling for contested deputy presidency.
  2. Perceived Suspension: Speculation linked to alignment with ex-EFF deputy Floyd Shivambu, now with MK Party.
  3. Leadership Rift: Julius Malema criticized Ndlozi’s silence, reflecting internal power struggles.

Full Story:

Ndlozi's political journey with the EFF faces challenges after reports of being sidelined. His absence from key meetings, including the Central Command Team, has raised eyebrows. Ndlozi’s removal from his parliamentary portfolio also adds to rumors of internal discord, especially after Shivambu’s departure. Malema's comments on loyalty further fueled the speculation.

Ndlozi’s silence amid these developments has divided supporters, with some claiming suppression of alternative voices in leadership. As the NPA nears, his future in the party remains uncertain, with potential ramifications for the EFF’s cohesion and direction.

Ndlozi, admired for his intellect and youth support, has not attended key meetings recently and was removed from his parliamentary portfolio, raising questions about his status. Allegations of a potential suspension have fueled debates about leadership dynamics and factionalism within the EFF. Some analysts speculate that Ndlozi's exclusion is linked to his perceived alignment with former deputy president Floyd Shivambu, who joined the MK Party after leaving the EFF.

Thambo took to X on Sunday voicing his frustrations over Ndlozi's silence.

"Our organisation cannot be dragged through the mud daily in your name and you keep quiet as if you have no capacity to talk.

"Silence at times becomes complicity. I love him too, but I love the EFF more," he said.

Thambo's scathing comments came after political analyst Levy Ndou said the EFF has to provide its followers with a comprehensive explanation for the alleged exclusion of Ndlozi from the assembly.

Malema’s leadership style has come under scrutiny, with accusations of internal suppression aimed at consolidating control. Despite this, Ndlozi has not publicly addressed the situation, leaving his future with the EFF uncertain as the assembly approaches. The unfolding developments could significantly impact the EFF's direction and unity.
