Job Description
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is offering a Learnership Programme for 2024 aimed at equipping unemployed South African youth with practical skills in the agricultural sector. This program spans a full year, during which enrolled learners will be trained in various aspects of agriculture, including animal and plant production. Participants will gain valuable experience that could enhance their employability in the agriculture sector or related fields.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
- Be unemployed and between the ages of 18 and 35.
- For NQF Level 02/03: Possess AET Level 4/Standard 7/Grade 9/10 or have completed NQF1/2 in Animal/Plant Production.
- For NQF Level 04: Possess Grade 12/Standard 10 with passes in English, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences, or have completed NQF 3 in Animal/Plant Production.
Duties
Enrolled learners will:
- Participate in hands-on training and workshops.
- Gain knowledge and skills in animal and plant production.
- Complete various assignments and practical tasks as part of the learnership curriculum.
- Work under the guidance of experienced mentors within the Department of Agriculture.
