Minister Blade Nzimande announced on the media outlets regarding the R3,8 billion Nsfas funds, which is made available to assist students who are unable to afford university fees.

This great opportunity will grant access to the 11% households which are earning an income between R351 000 and R600 000 to gain access to the “missing middle” student loan. According to the Minister of Higher Education ” Nzimande, who was addressing the media on Sunday, revealed that the funding model is divided into two phases. ” 

“This amount will fund 47% of the missing middle students, that is, 31 884 of the estimated 68 446 missing middle,” he said at the media briefing held in Pretoria.

According to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme they provides funding to all approved students to cover the cost of tuition ,books, transport, accommodation, food and and registration.
