This position is designed for learners capable of completing the basic pharmacist assistant course. Successful candidates will be employed in a Fixed Term position until they are registered with the SAPC as learner basic assistants. The roles offer market-related salaries and are based at different Dis-Chem locations.

Job Description
As a Dispensary Support learner, you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for the pharmaceutical environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Selling Schedule 1 medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assisting with the compounding, preparation, and dispensing of non-sterile medicines.
- Managing the unpacking, merchandising, and cleaning of stock and dispensary shelves.
- Interpreting prescriptions accurately and ensuring the accuracy of medications.
- Assisting with stock control, script tracking, and patient follow-ups.
- Providing health promotion information and assisting with scheme authorization for chronic, HIV, AIDS, and oncology medications.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate with at least 50% in Pure Mathematics, Life Science, and/or Physical Science.
- Skills: Proficiency in English and a second language, strong communication skills, time management, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.

Special Conditions of Employment
- Passing a proficiency test for registration with the Pharmacy Council
