Clover invites unemployed South African youth to apply for its YES Merchandiser Learnership Programme. This 12-month programme, part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, offers valuable work experience in Clover’s Sales department.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Fluency in Business English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Stock Control and Ordering:
   • Implement correct stock control measures in-store and in backup areas.
   • Control and minimize stock returns as per the store work plan.
   • Prevent and report out-of-stock situations to the Area Manager (AM).
   • Ensure accurate and timely orders in line with store requirements.
   • Maintain clean and neat product displays on shelves.
   • Manage crates and equipment in accordance with company policies.
2. Shelving and Merchandising:
   • Ensure proper shelve control as per store and shelving plans.
   • Pack shelves following store flow and basic merchandising principles.
   • Keep fridges stocked and maintained.
   • Maintain shelf setups as per provided plans (plannos or generic shelf sets).
   • Update price labels accurately.
   • Place and maintain point-of-sale materials in their allocated positions.
   • Perform necessary administration related to product displays and stock.
3. Relationship Management:
   Build and maintain strong relationships with:
   • Store management
   • Area Managers (AM)
   • Head Office (HO)
   • Customers
   • Fellow Merchandisers
