Apply for sassa child grant Increase to R720 per child, Here's how to apply for grant top in 2024. CSG Top-Up Grant is a South African grant which was introduced on 1 June 2022 by The social development minister, Lindiwe Zulu to help assistant South African who need financial assistance .

These children will receive their basic CSG of R480, plus an
additional amount of R240, bringing the total to R720.

The CSG top-up has been introduced to assist relatives caring for
orphans to provide for their basic needs. The purpose is to keep
orphans within their extended family environment without removing
them from familiar households.

minister, Lindiwe Zulu Said “This is designed to improve the accessibility of the CSG programme to, as best as possible, meet the basic needs of orphans”, she said.
