Job Description:
The AFGRI Apprenticeship Programme is a three-year in-service training experience designed to develop skilled Artisans. Apprentices will undergo comprehensive training, including:
- Practical Training at a Practical Training Institute in various phases.
- Enrollment in N-subjects at a College for distance learning (if needed).
- Product Training at the John Deere Training Facility in Boksburg and other supplier facilities.
- Internal training sessions hosted by AFGRI Specialists.
The first six months serve as a probation period, during which either party can withdraw without consequences. Following this, apprentices will be bound by an AFGRI contract and commence their actual training. The duties of the apprentice will include:
- Training to become a Mechanic/Technician.
- Repair and maintenance of related equipment.
- Stock control.
- Customer service.
- General workplace responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Communication skills.
- Administrative skills.
- Computer literacy.
- N2 subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Diesel Trade Theory, and one of the following: Industrial Electronics, Engineering/Technical Drawing, or Motor Trade Theory.
Alternatively, a Matric Certificate with the following subjects will be considered:
- Mathematics (Not Literacy).
- Technical Mathematics (Not Literacy).
- Physical Science.
- Technical Science.
- Engineering Graphics and Design.
