Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Capitec Bank Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen.
  • Educational Background: You must have completed Matric.
  • Study Status: You must be studying full-time towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in one of the specified fields.
  • Institution: You must be enrolled at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • Academic Performance: You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% in your first year of tertiary studies or higher.
  • Location: You must be willing to be based in the Western Cape (Bellville/Stellenbosch) and/or Gauteng (Sandton/Johannesburg).
  • Credit Record: You must have a clear credit record.
  • Criminal Record: You must have a clear criminal record.
  • Personal Attributes: You must be ambitious, proactive, a problem-solver, have a growth mindset, and be eager to learn and embrace new opportunities.
