Learnership Description

The programme focuses on ensuring that each ECD centre has at least one fully trained and qualified ECD teacher. With a significant number of young people who can be trained to support ECD centres, the programme aims to recruit approximately 2,800 individuals who will undergo comprehensive training and be placed in registered and compliant ECD centres. By providing professional guidance and fostering a nurturing learning environment, these young professionals will ensure that children receive quality education while engaging in play-based activities.

Information about the programme

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teachers Programme is a 3-year programme where young people will receive training as Early Childhood Development Teachers and then placed in ECD centres in the NGO sector.

What you will need

Selection Criteria Applicants must:

• Have matriculated from a school in Gauteng.
• Be passionate about pursuing a career in ECD education.
• You should be younger than 33 Years old and you may not turn 36 during the programme
